Reverie Saigon sets new sustainability benchmarks in Vietnam | Megha Paul – Travel Daily

The iconic Reverie Saigon has become the first hotel in Vietnam to be awarded both the prestigious ISO standard for environmental management systems and energy management systems – including being the only mixed-use development in Vietnam to achieve the latter.

The hotel’s ISO 14001:2015 certification verifies its ability to measure its environmental impact while the ISO 50001:2011 certification recognises its implementation of procedures and protocols to continually improve energy efficiency and consumption – which, in 2019, resulted in a 3% reduction in electricity usage and an 18% reduction of water consumption compared to the previous year.

Some of the hotel’s green initiatives include installing water-conserving fixtures in all guest bathrooms, replacing all plastic rubbish bags in-room with 100% compostable ones and using solar panels to heat its water supply.

“The Reverie Saigon has been driving industry standards on a national level since we first opened in 2015. We are the only member of The Leading Hotels of The World in Vietnam and now, thanks to a collective effort by all colleagues and the entire management team, we are proudly the first building in the country to be ISO certified,” said James Young, vice president of resource planning and development for WMC Group.
